Saskatchewan invited 385 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination in its first PNP draw of 2021 on January 7

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) kicked off the year by issuing total 385 invitations to immigration candidates on January 7.

The invitations to apply for provincial nomination were issued to candidates through SINP’s two immigration subcategories: Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand.

In order to be invited in this draw, candidates from both sub-categories needed an Expression of Interest (EOI) score of at least   71 points on the SINP’s Points Assessment Grid.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program, or SINP, allows the province to nominate qualified foreign workers who have the potential to thrive in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.

It is also one of the easiest Provincial Nominee Programs to apply. While a minimum of one year of full-time work experience is essential to apply for both of its subcategories – Express Entry and Occupation in Demand, a job offer or work experience in Canada is not required.

In order to apply for a provincial nomination through either of these streams, candidates need to first register an EOI with the SINP.

Eligible EOIs are then awarded a score out of 100 based on the SINP’s International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid, which allot them points based on their work experience, education, language ability, age, and connections to the province. High-scoring candidates are then invited to apply for provincial nomination through regular draws conducted by the SINP.

Express Entry candidates, who obtain a nomination through the SINP’s Express Entry sub-category, receive additional 600 points toward their CRS scores, effectively increasing their chances to get an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Express Entry draw.

Manitoba invited 118 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in its last draw of 2020 on December 30

 

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted its last immigration draw of the year on December 30.

Total 118 invitations, also known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent Residency were issued to skilled workers and international graduates through three immigration streams of MPNP: Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Workers Overseas.

Out of the 118 LAAs issued in this draw, 13 went to Express Entry candidates

Invitations have been issued to candidates who are working in a regulated occupation. However, applications of those candidates who are not actually working in a regulated occupation, or who do not provide proof of having completed all licensing steps to be employed in Manitoba, might get refused by the MPNP.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) allows the province to nominate foreign workers and international graduates of its post-secondary institutions for Canadian permanent residence through three popular immigration pathways.

To apply under the Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba categories, applicants need to first file an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP.

These EOI profiles are scored on the Manitoba points’ grid out of a total score of 1,000. Candidates with the highest scores are invited to apply for provincial nomination for Canada permanent residence through regular draws conducted by the MPNP.

Prince Edward Island Invited 195 Immigration Candidates in New PNP Draw on December 17

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) issued total 195 invitations for a provincial nomination for Canadian Permanent Residency in its last scheduled immigration draw of the year on December 17.

Candidates under the Express Entry, Labour Impact, and Business Impact streams of PEI PNP received invites in this draw.

Distribution of invitations

Out of the total 195 invitations issued, 174 went to Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates, while the remaining 21 were issued to Business Impact candidates who had a minimum point threshold of 85.

PEI PNP’s Express Entry Category is for candidates with a profile in the federal Express Entry system.

Express Entry candidates, who would like to be considered for a provincial nomination from the province, need to create a separate Expression of interest (EOI) profile with the PEI PNP.

These profiles are given a score on the basis of information provided in their EOI based on factors such as education, work experience and proficiency in English or French. The highest-ranked candidates are invited to apply for a provincial nomination through regular draws.

Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination get an additional 600 point toward their overall Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which effectively guarantees them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a subsequent Express Entry draw.

PEI PNP’s Labour Impact Category is not aligned with the Express Entry system and is designed for foreign nationals with a valid job offer in the province and support from a PEI employer.

Candidates in this category may fall under three possible streams: Skilled Worker (in PEI and outside Canada), Critical Worker and International Graduate.

PEI PNP’s Business Impact: Work Permit Stream is for individuals interested in owning and operating a business on the island. This stream also operates on a points-based EOI system.

In its latest draw held on December 1, 2020, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) invited total 564 candidates through its two immigration subcategories: Express Entry, and Occupations In-Demand.

 EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW #168: November 25, 2020

Canada conducted another Express Entry Draw just at a gap of one week on November 25.

The highest-ever 5000 Invitations to apply (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residency, were issued to immigration candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score of 469.

The CRS cut-off threshold dipped below 470 for the first time in an all-program draw this year.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied the tie-breaking rule and the time-stamp used was October 15, 2020, at 08:50:10 UTC. This means the candidates who had a CRS score of 469 or more, who had submitted their Express Entry profile before this time and date, received an invitation in this draw.

4500 Express Entry Candidates received ITAs for Canadian permanent residency

 

EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW #166: November 5, 2020

Canada conducted its latest Express Entry draw on November 5.

Total 4,500 invitations to apply (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residency were issued to immigration candidates in this draw.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement for this draw was 478 points

French-speaking candidates were eligible for 25 additional points for their language skills in this draw.

This is the third Express Entry draw where Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 4,500 invitations at a time, the largest number of invitations issued in one draw.

IRCC applied the tie-breaking rule and the time-stamp used was October 26, 2020 at 22:44:19 UTC. This means the candidates who had a CRS score of 478 or more, who had submitted their Express Entry profile before this time and date, received an invitation in this draw.

The Express Entry system is Canada’s primary source of skilled foreign workers. It manages the profiles of candidates under three Federal High Skilled economic class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.

Eligible candidates enter the Express Entry pool, where they are issued a CRS score based on their age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French, among other factors.

A set number of highest-ranked candidates are then invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence through regular draws from the pool.

Canada’s Immigration Minister announced the multi-year immigration levels plan at the end of October, which highlighted that country will welcome over 400,000 new immigrants every year until 2023.

Over 100,000 of these new permanent residents will be admitted through Express Entry-managed programs in the Federal High Skilled category.

The draw brings the total number of Express Entry invitations issued by IRCC so far this year to 87,350.

The year 2020 is turning up to be a new record-breaking year for Express Entry, as the number of ITAs issued to immigration candidates so far is the highest it has ever been.

 The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted another immigration draw on October 22, 2020.

Total 206 invitations, also known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs), were issued to immigration candidates including Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence.
