Ontario invited 484 Express Entry candidates in first PNP draw of 2021 on January 13

 The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) conducted its first immigration draw of the year on January 13.

Total 484 invitations or Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to apply for provincial nomination were issued to Express Entry candidates through OINP’s two provincial pathways — the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream and Skilled Trades Stream.

BREAKTHROUGH OF INVITATIONS

In order to receive an NOI in this draw, candidates were required to have their Express Entry profiles created between January 13, 2020, and January 13, 2021.

The French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream of OINP is designed for Express Entry candidates who speak English and French. In order to apply under this stream, applicants have to fulfill the eligibility requirements of the Canadian Experience Class, or the Federal Skilled Worker Program. They need a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of at least seven in French, and at least 6 in English, among other eligibility requirements.

The Skilled Trades Stream allows the OINP to search the Express Entry pool for candidates currently living in Ontario who have a minimum of one-year full-time work experience or the equivalent in part-time work, in a skilled trade listed in Minor Group 633 or Major Group 72, 73, or 82 under Canada’s National Occupational Classification (NOC).

While candidates do not need a job offer to apply under either the Skilled Trades or French-Speaking Skilled Worker Streams, candidates must meet all the mandatory federal and provincial requirements specified by the OINP.

Candidates who received invitations in this draw will get an additional 600 points towards their overall Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score if they successfully receive a provincial nomination from the OINP.

First Express Entry Draw of 2021 invited 250 PNP Candidates to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency

Canada invited total 250 Express Entry candidates who have provincial nominations to apply for permanent residency in its first immigration draw of 2021 on January 6.

The invitations to apply (ITAs) have been issued to candidates who had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 813.

Immigration candidates, who obtain nominations from an Express Entry-aligned Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), automatically receive 600 points toward their overall CRS score.  This is the reason that CRS cut-off score for this invitation round was quite high as compared to previous draws.

The Express Entry system is Canada’s primary source of skilled foreign workers. It manages the profiles of candidates under three Federal High Skilled economic class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.

Eligible candidates enter the Express Entry pool, where they are issued a CRS score based on their age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French, among other factors.

A set number of highest-ranked candidates are then invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence through regular draws from the pool.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied the tie-breaking rule and the time-stamp used was November 2, 2020 at 11:11:52 UTC. This means the PNP candidates who had a CRS score of 813 or more, who had submitted their Express Entry profile before this time and date, received an invitation in this draw.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic, 2020 remained a record-breaking year for Canada’s Express Entry system! The country issued highest-ever 107,350 invitations for permanent residence to immigration candidates. However, this number is going to be bigger since the country is all set to welcome over 1.2 million new immigrants in next three years as per its 2021-2023 Multiyear Immigration Plan.

Canada aims to welcome 401,000 new immigrants in 2021. Total 108,500 of these immigrants will come through an Express Entry-managed program.

Canada invited 4750 CEC candidates to apply for permanent residency in January 7th Express Entry Draw

Canada conducted another Express Entry round of invitations on January 7, 2021.

A total of 4750 immigration candidates received invitations to apply (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residence in this draw.

The draw, which was restricted to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) program candidates only, had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) threshold of 461.

It was the second invitation round held in two days. On January 6, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued a total of 250 ITAs to immigration candidates who had received nominations from an Express Entry-aligned Provincial Nominee Program (PNPs)

The Express Entry system is Canada’s primary source of skilled foreign workers. It manages the profiles of candidates under three Federal High Skilled economic class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is an immigration category for foreign workers who have completed at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years and who wish to become permanent residents.

It is an ideal route to Canadian permanent residency for temporary foreign workers including international students. Having obtained Canadian work experience, these individuals get a “head start” against other candidates in the Express Entry pool as it is a highly-valued factor under the CRS.

The IRCC applied a tie break in this draw and the time stamp used was September 12, 2020, at 20:46:32 UTC. That means all CEC candidates with a CRS score of and above 461 who had submitted their profiles before this date & time, received ITAs in this invitation round.

Saskatchewan invited 385 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination in its first PNP draw of 2021 on January 7

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) kicked off the year by issuing total 385 invitations to immigration candidates on January 7.

The invitations to apply for provincial nomination were issued to candidates through SINP’s two immigration subcategories: Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand.

In order to be invited in this draw, candidates from both sub-categories needed an Expression of Interest (EOI) score of at least   71 points on the SINP’s Points Assessment Grid.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program, or SINP, allows the province to nominate qualified foreign workers who have the potential to thrive in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.

It is also one of the easiest Provincial Nominee Programs to apply. While a minimum of one year of full-time work experience is essential to apply for both of its subcategories – Express Entry and Occupation in Demand, a job offer or work experience in Canada is not required.

In order to apply for a provincial nomination through either of these streams, candidates need to first register an EOI with the SINP.

Eligible EOIs are then awarded a score out of 100 based on the SINP’s International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid, which allot them points based on their work experience, education, language ability, age, and connections to the province. High-scoring candidates are then invited to apply for provincial nomination through regular draws conducted by the SINP.

Express Entry candidates, who obtain a nomination through the SINP’s Express Entry sub-category, receive additional 600 points toward their CRS scores, effectively increasing their chances to get an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in subsequent Express Entry draw.

Manitoba invited 118 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in its last draw of 2020 on December 30

 

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted its last immigration draw of the year on December 30.

Total 118 invitations, also known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent Residency were issued to skilled workers and international graduates through three immigration streams of MPNP: Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Workers Overseas.

Out of the 118 LAAs issued in this draw, 13 went to Express Entry candidates

Invitations have been issued to candidates who are working in a regulated occupation. However, applications of those candidates who are not actually working in a regulated occupation, or who do not provide proof of having completed all licensing steps to be employed in Manitoba, might get refused by the MPNP.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) allows the province to nominate foreign workers and international graduates of its post-secondary institutions for Canadian permanent residence through three popular immigration pathways.

To apply under the Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba categories, applicants need to first file an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP.

These EOI profiles are scored on the Manitoba points’ grid out of a total score of 1,000. Candidates with the highest scores are invited to apply for provincial nomination for Canada permanent residence through regular draws conducted by the MPNP.

Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination get additional 600 points toward their overall Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which effectively guarantees them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a subsequent Express Entry draw.

Prince Edward Island Invited 195 Immigration Candidates in New PNP Draw on December 17

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) issued total 195 invitations for a provincial nomination for Canadian Permanent Residency in its last scheduled immigration draw of the year on December 17.

Candidates under the Express Entry, Labour Impact, and Business Impact streams of PEI PNP received invites in this draw.

Distribution of invitations

Out of the total 195 invitations issued, 174 went to Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates, while the remaining 21 were issued to Business Impact candidates who had a minimum point threshold of 85.

PEI PNP’s Express Entry Category is for candidates with a profile in the federal Express Entry system.

Express Entry candidates, who would like to be considered for a provincial nomination from the province, need to create a separate Expression of interest (EOI) profile with the PEI PNP.

These profiles are given a score on the basis of information provided in their EOI based on factors such as education, work experience and proficiency in English or French. The highest-ranked candidates are invited to apply for a provincial nomination through regular draws.

Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination get an additional 600 point toward their overall Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which effectively guarantees them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a subsequent Express Entry draw.

PEI PNP’s Labour Impact Category is not aligned with the Express Entry system and is designed for foreign nationals with a valid job offer in the province and support from a PEI employer.

Candidates in this category may fall under three possible streams: Skilled Worker (in PEI and outside Canada), Critical Worker and International Graduate.

PEI PNP’s Business Impact: Work Permit Stream is for individuals interested in owning and operating a business on the island. This stream also operates on a points-based EOI system.

 Over 500 immigration candidates are now one more step closer of achieving their dream of getting Canadian permanent residency.

In its latest draw held on December 1, 2020, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) invited total 564 candidates through its two immigration subcategories: Express Entry, and Occupations In-Demand.
