Canada invited 557 PNP candidates to apply for permanent residence in latest Express Entry draw

Canada conducted another Express Entry Draw for immigration to Canada on June 22.
Total 557 Express Entry candidates, who had previously obtained a nomination from a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) received invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residence in this draw.
The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement for this draw was 687.
A provincial nomination awards an additional 600 points to applicants toward their overall CRS score. This means candidates who received invites in this round would have needed a score of just 87 points for their human capital without the provincial nomination.
A tie-break rule, that is used to rank candidates who have the same CRS score, was applied in this draw by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The time stamp used was November 11, 2019 at 8:51:21 UTC., which means all PNP candidates with a CRS score of at least 687 who had submitted their profiles into Express Entry pool before this time and date, received an ITA in this draw.
This was the 9th PNP-specific draw since Canada announced special coronavirus measures restricting travel on March 18.
Canada is very much on right track to achieve its Express Entry target of issuing 85,800 ITAs in 2020. The government of Canada has already issued 54,357 ITAs so far this year.

3,343 CEC candidates received invitations to apply for permanent residence in latest Express Entry Draw

Canada conducted another Express Entry round of invitations on July 23, 2020.
A total of 3343 immigration candidates received invitations to apply (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residence in this draw.
The draw, which was restricted to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) program candidates only, had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) threshold of just 445.
It was the second invitation round held in two days and had the lowest CRS requirement of the month.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied a tie break in this draw and the time stamp used was July 12, 2020 at 15:16:55 UTC. That means all CEC candidates with a CRS score of and above 445 who had submitted their profiles before this date & time, received Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in this round.
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is an immigration category for foreign workers who have completed at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years and who wish to become permanent residents.
It is an ideal route to Canadian permanent residency for temporary foreign workers including international students. Having obtained Canadian work experience, these individuals get a “head start” against other candidates in the Express Entry pool as it is a highly-valued factor under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
This draw brings the total ITAs issued by IRCC in 2020 to 57,700.
IRCC continues to accept submissions to the Express Entry system. Therefore, candidates who wish to submit their Express Entry profile can still do so despite coronavirus-related restrictions.
Candidates, who received invites in this draw, now have 60 calendar days to submit their complete applications for Canadian permanent residence to IRCC.

Canada welcomed 74,000 new permanent residents in first quarter of 2020; Indian remained the leading source country of new immigrants

Canada, without a doubt, is one of the most open countries in the world for immigrants, welcoming newcomers from 175 countries each year.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) released a new data providing information on Canada’s new immigrants in the first four months of 2020.
Canada has welcomed 74,000 new permanent residents this year between January and April.
Keeping Canada’s Immigration Levels Plan for 2020-2022 in mind, 2020 could see Canada exceed the milestone of 350,000 new immigrants in a calendar year.
India continues to be the top source country of immigrants
India continues to remain the leading source country of Canada’s new permanent resident (PR) visa holders. The Indian share of Canada’s newcomers has increased significantly in recent years. Around 24 per cent of new PRs in the first four months of 2020 went to Indian applicants.
India is the leading source of Canada’s immigrants for the following reasons. It is the second-largest country in the world in terms of population, which means it has a huge pool of potential immigrants.
It also has highly-skilled population with high levels of English language proficiency, education, professional backgrounds and other key characteristics that help them become eligible for Canadian immigration.
Top 10 source countries
The following comprise the top 10 source countries of new immigrants in the first four months of 2020:
  1. India
  2. China
  3. Philippines
  4. USA
  5. Nigeria
  6. Pakistan
  7. Syria
  8. France
  9. Iran
  10. Brazil
Despite the special measures and travel restrictions in place, Canada immigration is processing immigration applications to the best of its ability; therefore, it is still in the interests of applicants to submit their immigration applications.
Submitting a profile or application now will give you a chance to receive an invitation to apply or approval for permanent residence, and the chance to travel to Canada as soon as the travel restrictions will ease.
In fact, IRCC is being quite lenient during this time to help people achieve their Canadian immigration goals without much hassle.

Canada invited 3232 candidates to apply for permanent residence in the Canadian Experience Class-specific Express Entry draw held March 23, 2020

In its Second Express Entry draw in just five days, Canada invited 3,232 immigration candidates with Comprehensive Ranking Scores (CRS) as low as 467 to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
The March 23rd Express Entry draw is the second of its kind since 2015 that specifically targeted candidates in the Canadian Experience Class.

The Canadian Experience Class is one of three Federal High Skilled immigration programs managed by the Express Entry system. This immigration class is open to foreign nationals with a minimum one year of work experience in Canada, among other criteria.
The CRS cut-off score of 467 drawn in March 23rd draw was three points lower than the minimum cut-off threshold of this year in an all-program ExpressEntry draw, which was 470.
Immigration, Refugees Citizenship Canada (IRCC) used a tie-break in the March 23 draw. The time stamp used was November 25, 2019, at 14:00:35 UTC that means all Canadian Experience Class candidates with a CRS score of and above 467, who entered their profile in the Express Entry pool before this date and time, received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in this invitation round.
With 3232 invites been sent in March 23 draw; IRCC has now issued a total of 22,600 ITAs this year through Canada’s Express Entry system.
Due to the strict travel restrictions imposed by the Federal Government to combat COVID-19 outbreak, there was a little uncertainty among immigration candidates to process their application with IRCC. However, recent draws conducted by the Government of Canada have made it quite clear that Canada is still inviting and approving permanent residence applications.
Considering Canada’s higher admission targets for its immigration programs in 2020 and 2021, it can be assumed that IRCC will hold more frequent and larger draws in the coming weeks and months.
